Solution Scope

Is the complete set of capabilities that a solution must deliver in order for it to meet the business needs. Its purpose is to ensure the requirements are aligned with the boundaries and completeness of the recommended solution.

The solution scope is contained within the Change Strategy document. It is used by the Requirements Architecture to define the scope of requirements.

Details

The Solution Scope contains 2 attributes and 1 operation.

  • Project Name - Identifies the project.

  • Solution Scope - Describes the scope of the project using a context diagram.

  • The solution scopes produced by the Define Change Strategy operation.

Example

An example context diagram showing the solution interfaces for an automated shopping system.

The context diagram shows the solution name as an ellipse, which is connected to all external actors and systems. The connections show the information input to and output from the solution.
