Elicitation Result

Its purpose is to define and understand the current state. Elicitation results are used to create requirements for a future state.

Elicitation results receive input from the Elicitation Activity Plan. They are input to the Current State description, Requirements, and Risk Analysis Results.

An Elicitation Result contains 5 attributes and is managed with 2 operations.

  • Elicitation Result ID - Is a unique reference to the artifact.

  • Guide Elicitation Activity - In the form of a record of the elicitation activity.

  • Capture Elicitation Outcomes – A description of the elicitation result

  • Compare Elicitation Results Against Source Information - A description of how the elicitation result s compares to other information.

  • Compare Elicitation Results Against Other Elicitation Results - A description of consistency with other elicitation results.

Life Cycle

The order in which tasks operate on elicitation results.

  • Unconfirmed – The Elicitation Result is being captured and verified.

  • Confirmed - The information in the Elicitation Result has been confirmed as accurate and may be used as input to analysis artifacts.

  • Archived – The Elicitation Result is no longer used by the project.

A good example would be:

  • Unconfirmed - A marked up user interface screen capture, with stakeholder comments and recommendations attached as notes.

  • Confirmed - A modified diagram of the screen capture with notes incorporated and a description of the changes that has been approved by the stakeholder..
